So one advantage of Keep is that it synchs easily across the Google platforms. This is an app owned by Google, and it is therefore worth considering, since Google rules the world. Who Are Evernote’s Note Taking Competitors?ġ. Other Note Takers offer one or two of the same features as Evernote, but not the large number of other tools that Evernote includes in its software, free of charge.Įvernote is great way to help people get more out of everything they do, every day. Some Note Takers are so simple that they don’t offer anything more useful than your own Word ‘My Documents’ on your hard drive. You can even use it to organize all your different Affiliate Programs so you can see at a glance where to focus your attention, week after week.Įvernote easily beats all of the other Free Note Takers in every department. Result: they can’t! No other Note Taking Software app can compete with the many powerful Evernote Features – it has the ability to be synched across different platforms and devices, email integration, sharing with others, the ability to work off line, and the many tools that are provided to collect, sort and organize anything you like: text, images, affiliate links, audio, speech…etc I started with Evernote because they have been the market leader in Note Taking Software, and then I checked out the others to see if they could compete. This last week, I’ve spent more time than I care to admit to, in checking out several Free Note Taking apps to see which one is the best one for me. Personally, I need help to organize my daily ‘To Do’ Tasks, my ‘Things to Fix’ tasks, and also to Collect and Save text, images and audio when researching new topics to write about – and a dozen other things I need to do, to organize my day – home and office, and become efficient, and more productive.Įvernote : Simply the Best! By far. Growly Write is a simple but feature-rich word processor. There are many free Note Taking software apps available today. Perhaps the word processor you've been using has 100 times as many features as you need. Or it won't work the way you want it to - too many views or too few, and nothing makes any sense. Or it looks as if it were designed back when computers displayed text in green letters on a black screen. Growly Write is something else entirely: fresh, capable, and simple. The range of documents you can create in Write is staggering: multiple columns, chapters with different layouts, pictures that flow with the text or pictures that text wraps around, drop caps, tables, lists, links within a document or to web pages, borders simple and complex, and a complete toolkit of text formats. The section on the right of the screen shot above is the format panel. It lets you change the appearance of everything in the document, without ever getting in your way. No obscure commands, complex and ugly modal windows, tiny indecipherable icons, or hunting through menus. If you want to format something, this is the place to go. The tabs at the top let you choose what to modify: text, paragraphs, tables, lists, pictures, what have you. They reconfigure automatically to match whatever you've selected. Within each tab the properties are broken down into small, easy-to-understand groups. If you don't use styles, for example, just close the style group and you'll never have to see it again. But when you do need a certain format, you'll never have to wonder where it is. If you're just typing and you don't want to think about formatting right now, simply close the panel. Sometimes you need to concentrate on making your document look great, but for most documents it's the words that matter most. When you want to focus on the text, use the draft view (vs. the page view shown above).Ī most promising Word processing app I have seen so far and with the potential to do away with Microsoft Word and even the plethora of open source Word processing stuff such as OpenOffice, LibreOffice and other variants, and at a very concise size that I like to see. NOTE: I wonder whether there should be a competition to see who can make the most compact file size app with the most "useful" features possible. Call it the App Awards for best app of the year.
